Many thanks to EREWASH BOROUGH COUNCIL, and to Councillor Mike Wallis for posting this press release about my forthcoming Exhibition at EREWASH MUSUEM.
The Campaign for Wool, led by patron, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, are bringing the sheep pasture back to Savile Row in October 2015. I am assembling a Merino Sheep to celebrate UK Wool Week in partnership with tailoring house Huntsman, 11 Savile Row. The 1.3 metre canvas will be displayed as part of the celebration to showcase the beauty and versatility of wool. The work in progress will be posted here and on twitter @JoyPitts11.

Erewash Museum have invited me take up a residency from 11 Sept. until 30th Oct. 2015 to accompany an exhibition of my work. This opportunity will allow me to gain access to the Museums social history collection which will inspire the residency and allow time and space to explore new approaches in my socially engaged practice.
For 15 years I have gathered used labels from local charity shops on Ilkeston High Street, unpicking labels from the neck of rag garments. The 30,000 used labels in my exhibition at Erewash Museum have all been gathered from Ilkeston; therefore local residents were once walking around in these garments.
The Museum is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am until 4pm. High Street, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 5JA. Tel: 0115 9071141.

We certainly 'Got Creative' at Lace Market Gallery and completed a massive 200 labels for the background of my next portrait. The Wollaton branch of the W.I. stitched 100 labels to celebrate the 100 year birthday of the National Federation of Women's Institute. A huge thank you to them and to all the other visitors and many NCN students that participated.
Thank you also to BBCGetCreative for their wonderful call out 'Label of Love'. Along with the Lace Market Gallery, Nottingham Post, Newark Advertiser, The Campaign for Wool, Nottingham Trent University and The Centre for Hidden Histories for publicising the event and the exhibition '30,000 Used Labels' which continues until 13th May monday to friday 10 - 4:00pm.
