This work will be available during Norfolk Open Studios 2020 #NOS20
ADDRESS: Joy Pitts Gallery & Studio, 12 High Street, Wells-next-the Sea, Norfolk, NR23 1EP.
I have been sourcing materials and making new work launching in 2020.
Planning and making new work is such an investment as it takes time and research to produce a thought provoking successful image. The intense pinning process also takes its toll on my fingers which need time to recover between the specific stages of production.
I have some exciting work in progress including a Black Swan set in a landscape of used clothing labels, unpicked from rag garments. Other waterfowl are also of interest if I can locate the specific labels to reproduce these colourful birds. Following the success of 2019 I will be participating in Norfolk Open Studios again which runs from 23rd May to 7th June 2020.
Delighted that WASH DAY has been selected for the prestigious Black Swan Arts Open annual competition in Frome, Somerset BA11 1BB, running 18th October - 16th November 2019.
I am writing with news of an exciting contemporary art exhibition at which I have been invited to exhibit my portrait of the Queen assembled with name tapes of WWI fallen soldiers. Not to be missed, the exhibition is in London and is dedicated to Her Majesty the Queen, including sculpture, painting, photography, textiles, text, stitched newspaper, found vintage material, flowers and much more. It is a group exhibition of established and emerging cutting edge artists.
Please find an invitation attached, the venue is behind Selfridges, Marylebone, London. If you are interested in going please RSVP to me by Friday 13th September with your name and any guests you would like to bring along. #gstq19
